Hebrews 11:3-4
Every aspect of a Christian life is about salvation. It makes no sense to talk about faith without talking about salvation and talking about salvation without talking about the gospel. All three are tied into each other. Faith doesn’t produce a reality a reality produces faith. Faith doesn’t exist when a reality doesn’t exist. Faith is the essence of expecting. Faith is the assurance of hoping. Faith is something we know as a reality. We understand by faith. ~Acts 17:31~assurance~faith~ ~1 Corinthians 3&4~ By the resurrection of Jesus Christ, God has given us faith.
Vs. 4> Able knew he had to give an animal sacrifice. He knew by faith. It says by faith Able offered… It was an inward reality that produced and outward sacrifice. Cains sacrifice was a man produced sacrifice (he worked hard to grow the fruit) which was saying that I can work hard to clear my sins. But we know that Christ is the only one who can do this. Able gave a blood offering and did nothing (which is what we do in salvation) Christ does it all we do nothing (except repent). Able was trusting in a future event. He was proclaiming that he can do nothing, that he was trusting in God. He was demonstrating faith. Able was living a life that stemmed from the gospel, a life that was worthy of the gospel. Living a life from the gospel is living a life that is trusting upon God, relying completely on Him.
