Colossians 3:1-10
We need to keep our focus on God constantly. As long as we keep our focus on God and don’t listen to anyone else we will be just fine. We may not have perfect form all the time but as long as our gaze is on Him He will get us down just fine. Just like on a repelling tower with the instructor and the kid. You may be freaked out at times but in the end the instructor will get you down. The point of the law is to show you that you can’t do it, but God will always love you regardless. You don’t try and stop what you’re doing wrong so you can love God more; you stop because you love Him. Don’t stop seeking him after you have received salvation, keep seeking things above. Why would we stop there (at salvation)? God is so amazing we could never learn enough about Him or the things He does, so why would we stop? We will ALWAYS have something to learn, we will always have His love. -1 Peter 2:9-10- Run the race, don’t try and earn something that’s already been bought (salvation).
Seek Him because you want to learn more. Cast out all that stuff (VS 5) because your old life has been nailed to the cross, don’t try and make a “good deeds list.” Remember who it is that your seen as, remember Jesus and what He’s done for you. Remember to look to the cross Focus on the things above. 2 great ways to do that: The Bible and Prayer.
